  Team: Roy Tasker, Lori Lockyer and Barry Harper

Designer's Summary

This guide assists in the implementation of learning designs concerning developing understanding of non-physical phenomena. An explicit process of the following form is at its base:

  • observing and documenting;
  • describing and drawing;
  • discussing;
  • viewing;
  • reflecting and discussing;
  • relating; and
  • adapting.

Rationale for Inclusion

This learning design has been chosen for redevelopment as a guide because:

The purpose of the design is to facilitate learner's understanding of phenomena that cannot be physically seen. The design assists learners to correct misconceptions.

The learning design exemplar from which this generic model has been derived has undergone extensive evaluation and refinement that attests to its effectiveness.
